The Ashford BNI Eureka chapter have proved that a helping hand is offered by fellow chapter members as well as the more obvious benefits of building up business via networking. Like many pubs, John from The World’s Wonder in Warehorne has been suffering the brunt of the recent recession. Investment into the decor and building has not been an option for the World’s Wonder until a fellow member - Vic King of Kingfisher Blinds - decided to help.
Vic has organised a team of volunteers to work their magic on both the interior and the marketing of the restaurant area. New interior design has been devised for the restaurant area by Vic’s team, with walls being painted, new curtains made, new flooring throughout by Diamond Floorings and a redesign of the bar area and interior signage. The transformation has been astounding and even more impressive is that all of this has been done for free.
In terms of marketing, a new website has been produced for The World’s Wonder by resident web designers Luminate, the gourmet menu is being redesigned by Greenwood Graphics and our resident photographer Doug Harman has taken some stunning shots of the interior. The business is also being driven forward by a visitor to the Ashford BNI chapter whose business mentors pubs and restaurants.
Of course John and Kath from The Worlds Wonder have been extraordinarily busy themselves. They have regularly served the last customer and then worked through the night to help with the redecorating efforts. A new menu has been created by Ian the chef at the World’s Wonder. This was showcased on Saturday 17th October when the new restaurant was officially launched.
Due to the efforts of Clive Lawrence of PR 4 Profit, this story has been aired a couple of times on both BBC South East and ITV Meridian News and is still appearing in the local press. Interest has risen in the fantastic food and ambience that John and Kath offer at The World’s Wonder and the restaurant is now far busier. The World’s Wonder is now ready to go from strength to strength.
